You only have 15 Days to Respond to your ticket

You typically only have 15 days from the date your ticket was issued to respond to it. What this really means is that you have to mail the ticket back to the Court listed on your citation. Remember to check the “Contested Hearing” box on your ticket before you mail it to the court. The address you mail your ticket back to is printed on your ticket.

There are three ways to respond: Pay the fine, request a Mitigation hearing, or request a Contested Hearing.

If you want to be able to fight your ticket, check the 'Contested Hearing' box.

Once you mail the ticket in, the Court will mail back your court date - if you have requested either a Contested Hearing or Mitigation Hearing. Some Courts will allow you to have your Contested or Mitigation Hearings by mail so that you do not need to show up in person. Disregard this notice since we will always want to have an in-person hearing.
